Our hearts wander.
We long to remain faithful to God, but forget we are human.
The great news is God isn’t going anywhere. He longs for you to know Him. Not just know about Him, but know His deep, deep personal love for you.
Today’s guest, Lacey Dobrient, shares her own story of wandering, the single life, loss of her father and secondary infertility. . .events which all led her to study God’s Word more intently.
Lacey shares the method God revealed to her when she prayed for a way to know Him more.
I know there are lots of Bible study options out there, but I wanted to share this fun and purposeful one with y’all. AND I didn’t even know all the authentic sharing Lacey would do during our interview. Powerful stuff.
Oh, AND, one lucky listener will get their own set of pens and guidebook. To be entered to win, leave a comment below or a review on iTunes. Giveaway ends March 14th and the winner will be announced on the 16th. **This giveaway has now ended**

This was such a beautiful and timely podcast. I have desired to draw nearer to God, but felt overwhelmed at the “how”. So thankful for this simple yet powerful tool!
so glad to hear it was what you needed this morning, Mary. It really is a simple, powerful way to get deeper into God’s Word. The patterns and message jump out.
This was completely relatable to me! I can’t wait to try this new way of studying the bible! I’m buying mine today but would love a set to share with a friend! Thanks for putting this together! Love your podcast!
thanks April for the encouragement. So glad you could relate and are going to try it out! blessings
This is wonderful! I recently ordered a journaling Bible so am excited to try this out. As always was so encouraged by this!
so thankful it was an encouragement to you. and I have loved having the extra space on the side to write what God speaks to me. I even took it to church yesterday and wrote sermon notes and thoughts.
I would love this gift. I love how she said she became transparent and believed in the Lord and trusted Him when things were taken away. Ephesians 6 is a great chapter!
I would love studying the bible this way and I would love this gift to try it out! Could make a big difference in my devotional time.
This Podcast touched me deeply and rekindled my fire for delving into the Word. Anxious to try her method and recommit to daily devotional time.
I like the idea of looking for themes and related verses. Great idea!
As a relatively new mom (16 months) and a second on the way, I’ve been desiring something different. I am looking forward to baby steps of action with her ideas. Thank you for sharing!
This is such a great way to study the bible! This site is absolutely amazing!
I could really see my dd (10 years old) loving to do this in her Bible. Thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful interview that was so authentic and touched the fabric of everyone’s journey. She included the easy part but was so real about the suffering that her heart experienced . To hear someone give the Zlord the credit for leading her to a tool that brought her closer to His heart was really encouraging! If it worked for her ….it could work for me! The color method simply makes sense! Beautiful interview !
LOVE this! Would love to win!
I bought my husband a journaling Bible for Christmas, and now in kicking myself for not getting myself one too! I love the idea behind her method, and I can’t wait to start using it!
Really enjoyed listening to this podcast and am excited to look more into The Color Method! I’m always needing a better way to study Scripture…plus I’m kind of a “pen junkie” so the perk of getting new pens lures me 🙂
Love this pen idea! Wow….great way to start me day! So excited about using a way to study the bible and enjoy my favorite “addiction” of pens! Thank you Lacie for this wonderful idea!
Great idea! Would love to share the study with my sister, who loves pens!
I needed a jump start in my quiet time as I just started back to work after baby #3 and was in a “where do I start?” mode. This tool gives me a place and a way to start. Thank you!!
I enjoy your podcast every week. I would love to try this method and share it with others, thanks for the giveaway.
I’m studying 1 2 3 John with CBS (Community Bible Study) right now and I’m loving it! A little worried about what I’m going to do over the summer when my small group isn’t meeting together.
This method is very intriguing to me! I like the idea of looking at the bible with fresh eyes! Thanks for your podcast. 🙂
I really enjoyed listening to her method and how she let the Holy Spirit lead her to the colors. I’m excited about trying it with my older kids. Thanks
I just came across your podcast a couple of weeks ago and have bragged about you to my friends! I LOVE to listen to your podcast while driving to and from work. The Color Method is very interesting to me. I have always felt a bit overwhelmed when it comes to studying my Bible and I love color so I am thinking the Color Method might work for me! (Plus what woman doesn’t love a new set of pens in a rainbow of colors? lol)
I’m currently in a “bible study rut.” This was great motivation for me. I have two little boys (3 years & 1 year) and I’m still trying to figure out what studying the bible looks like in this season. Thanks for the encouragement and motivation.
This was such a fun podcast! And I loved hearing how your boys got I volved in the process. I struggle to know how to make my quiet time approachable to my two boys (not just my instinct to “shhhh” them!) thank you for this!
Great podcast! I loved the idea of marking the Bible in color, and am intrigued by letting my children do it too, been looking for a consistent way to have my 9 year old study God’s word. I’m going to look into this for both of us!
I love your podcast so much. It is so encouraging and uplifting! God has really been drawing me near to Him and this is a wonderful tool to get into His word. Thank you!
So fun to hear Lacey! Thankful for Lacey’s vulnerability with secondary fertility, so encouraging to me this morning. 🙂
I have been so encouraged by this podcast! I have often felt like “just a mom” but I have been longing to feel a deeper connection to the Lord. To be that spiritual role model and mentor to my children. This is just what I have been praying for! Thank you ladies so much!
I found your podcast through OhAmanda, and I have been so encouraged so far by what you and your guests have shared! I especially resonated with Lacey today when she was sharing her story about growing up in a Christian home, but falling away during college, since that is my story too! Thanks for your authenticity, it means so much to us listeners. 🙂
Oh, and I forgot to ask: Lacey mentioned very briefly that she was doing a “life map” right now, and I was very intrigued by that since it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while and didn’t know what to call it! Do you think Lacey could share any resources she has used to get started with her life map? Or is it just something she created on her own? Thanks in advance!
I’ve been so intrigued by journaling Bibles…..the color method sounds like just the thing to help me commit! Awesome podcast…..and I’m with Liz above….any more details about the life map?
I am a new listener and I really enjoyed this podcast. I am an empty nester but also a school teacher so I am finding nuggets in your podcast. I especially enjoyed this one and look forward to trying out this method. Thanks for sharing!!
I’ve this concept…ordered my set today and would love another set to share with my daughter!!
Not going to lie, I don’t usually comment on blogs, but I’m pretty excited about this giveaway. The nerd in me is very pleased by the idea of a color coded bible :] Especially since my husband bought me a beautiful new bible for Christmas.
I love your podcast! We have two boys and love our brood! I love listening to your experiences as a mom of all boys.
hey rebeka!! you won this giveaway!! I sent you an email but I’m thinking you didn’t get it? If you see this response, please email me your home address at GodCenteredMom@gmail.com.
Great podcast! Thanks, Heather! Would love to try this method. Also, can you share a link to your journaling bible? I love marking mine up as well! ;0)
I would love to win this giveaway! As a mom to a newly turned one year old, I am still learning to balance mommyhood, work, and everything else included in life and my quiet time has gradually fallen by the wayside. I think this is such an awesome, simple concept that is powerful and would help give me the incentive to get excited about getting in God’s Word again. I really enjoy this podcast. I listen to it at work and it really encourages me. Thanks so much for taking the time to make the podcasts!
I’ve been praying and struggling over knowing God better. Really KNOWING Him not just about Him. And then this pops up in my feed. Oh let this please be a sign that this is a tool that will enable me and help me move forward in my faith. Oh please. Thank you so much for the encouraging podcast!
This was such a timely message for me! Since having kids, I have struggled off and on and more on with having a quiet time and this morning I was thinking I don’t even know where to start anymore. I may start with this. Thanks!
Thanks for your podcast! I’m excited to try out this method!
I have been so inspired and encouraged by your podcasts. This one was SO good. I love her story and I am curious to see how this could transform my own personal studies…
I love your podcasts, and this came at a time when I am trying to figure out how to study the bible independently as well as incorporate it into our homeschool routine. You can be in all the small groups humanly possible but need to connect with God on a daily basis. Thanks for sharing this 🙂
Great episode! With a new baby at home, this method seems like a great way to get a lot out of a couple verses of study!
This is such a cool way to study the bible 😉
I love your podcasts! I listen while doing dishes or picking up the Living Room. You always ask the BEST questions. The guest will say something and I’ll think, “Well, what happened next?” Then, you’ll prompt the guest to go further by saying, “Well, what happened next?” YES! I love it! Would love a set of pens. A new refreshing way to study the Bible!
How awesome! Sounds like something I really need to try!!
I am really excited to try this! I have been struggling with figuring out a way to make studying my bible more practical.
I just saw this today (14th) & hope it is not too late to enter to win this Color Method set. I have just recently discovered the idea of a Journal Bible. I read thru the Bible regular (with the help of audio on my app)…but I like the idea of using color, in some way, to help me remember… to use my creativity again and to help impress on my heart. ~
Thanks for the giveaway chance, money being as tight as it is…~
Would love to use this method for my study of Moses for Bible Study Fellowship.
I have used something similar in my studies! Great idea! I hope I win because my daughter would be encouraged with this gift!
