The Good News of the Resurrection is at the heart of our faith. Over the years, we’ve loved sharing a variety of traditions to help celebrate and reflect on the gift of Jesus’ death and the power of His resurrection. I wanted to gather them all in one place for you. My prayer is that these ideas encourage you to create meaningful Easter traditions with your family—making memories together in this precious season of parenting.
1. Gospel Baskets
This idea came from my friend OhAmanda and here’s the post that describes how to help make the gospel real for your kiddos using the traditional Easter basket…with a twist. I also created this IG reel to explain it too.

2. Simple Passover Seder Dinner
Last year I had our friends Chris and Karen Katulka on the podcast. They shared more about hosting a Seder dinner and provided the best handouts with grocery lists and recipes. And even have the guide for leading a group through the lessons and prayers.

3. Finding Jesus Doll/Puzzle/Scripture
My friend Lillian was led to create this Jesus doll for Advent season. And then she realized it could also be a part of your Easter tradition. I love this sweet idea for younger kids to read scripture and lead up to Resurrection Day. Lillian came on the podcast to share more.

4. Resurrection Eggs
My boys love a good Easter Egg hunt. One of the days of Holy week we would do a “practice run” with the Resurrection Eggs. Since there were 12 eggs and I have 4 boys I told each boy to find 3 eggs and bring them to me. Each egg is numbered. I would read the book that came along with the eggs and work our way through all 12 eggs. Each boy contributing to the story when I called one of his 3 numbered eggs.

5. Sense of the Resurrection
When my boys were really little we worked our way through OhAmanda’s “Sense of the Resurrection” interactive devotional. If you have wiggly, fun-loving kids, they will enjoy this one. Amanda shares more about it in this episode.
